A lot of us, me included, aren't on FB and I presume they don't go under the name of 'Mark and Sue' on here. Now, if we all squeeze that stone really hard, just as the blood's about to be expelled we just might get a surname too!
No idea why your so intent on getting Sue & Marks surname, although its not top secret. Its Cropper I believe. True not everyone has been into Reliants for the last xx years, but then, members who have been into Reliants for xx years may also not know the family. Especially if they do not attend events at the NEC in Birmingham or Reliant rallies.

There have been several versions of this forum since 2004. Some of the versions had problems with the servers that were being used. So that members if needing help urgently could contact other members, I created a Reliant group on facebook. So that members who also used facebook could keep in contact when this forum crashed. That group has over 1000+ members now with many not members of this forum. We often advise people that this forum exists and advise joining. Many prefer the facebook group as its easier to post photos and quicker on occasions to contact our parts suppliers.

The admin on this forum are also the admin on the facebook group. There are of course now many Reliant groups on facebook imitating ours. We keep the same rules there as we have here. Although on the facebook group we do allow anything car related or motorcycle related. People tend to advertise more shows in that group. The last one was a few days ago with a Reliant drive through Portland.

I was actually wondering why you were being so secretive when Mark's full name is given on the Reliant Motor Club website. As you'd mentioned Elvis Payne's full name then I'd consider it more respectful to mention Mark and Sue's too. There are forum members who will have heard the name Mark Cropper mentioned at Reliant gatherings etc, as I had, and might therefore want to join the new club, whereas 'Mark and Sue' could be anyone really.

Even if you do attend Reliant rallies, especially as a day visitor, you may not know who you're talking to unless you ask (and then you'll probably just get a first name), and this was something that the organisers of a Reliant Kitten Register gathering held earlier this year were clearly thinking of, so they gave everyone a name badge to wear which was a nice little touch, especially for us 'newbies'. I was going to suggest something similar for the ROC National but I guess the vast majority of the (relatively) few who attend it have known each other for years.

I wasnt being in any way secretive. I have just always said Sue & Mark or Mark & Sue and Elvis Payne. Giving Elvis full name because at the start in 2004 of the forum in its early times, there were several people with a first name of Elvis. So it became normal to name each with their surname. When I met Mark & Sue at rallies, only their first name was mentioned as was mine. It was a few years before their surname became known to me. I only like to give my first name as I do not like being asked about being a hero in the 7/7 bombings. Although I am proud to have driven the only Reliant threewheeler through the gates of Buckingham Palace and had an escort of Reliants to and from there. ( MK2 Robin in cherry red).

The quote you've attributed to myself wasn't mine. It was posted by XV1100 who quoted something else I'd written.
